BWC x Dubai Watch Week 2025

Dubai Watch Week is one of the most respected horology events in the world. It brings together independent watchmakers, global brands, collectors, and communities who share a common interest: advancing watchmaking through ideas, innovation, and conversation.

In 2025, Bangalore Watch Company™ participated for the first time, becoming the first Indian independent watch brand invited to this global stage. It was a meaningful moment, not only for us but for Indian watchmaking.

Meteorite Watch Masterclass

As part of the program lineup, we presented a Meteorite Watch Masterclass. This was the first time such a masterclass had been conducted at Dubai Watch Week, and it also marked our debut delivering it to an international audience. The session was led by our co-founders, Nirupesh Joshi and Mercy Amalraj, along with the BWC team who worked closely with attendees through every step of the experience.
Meteorite watches have been an important part of our Apogee collection. Over the years, we’ve worked with rare extraterrestrial material to create watches such as Extraterrestrial, Karman Line, Manzinus, and most recently, Visitor. Each of these watches comes with its own story but all sharing one element: a dial made from genuine Muonionalusta meteorite.
Meteorite is extremely challenging to work with. It requires precise handling, stabilisation, cutting, and finishing before it can be used in a functional watch. The Widmanstätten pattern that appears on the surface is formed in space over billions of years. Because of the nature of the material and the processes involved, meteorite watches are often limited edition or limited production. The engineering behind these dials is something we have documented in detail in our article, Wearing a Piece of the Universe: The Meteorite Dial.
Hosting this masterclass at Dubai Watch Week allowed us to share the journey and the technical challenges behind meteorite watchmaking with collectors, community members, and watch enthusiasts from around the world. The attendees came with curiosity and genuine interest and watching them work hands-on through the process was one of the most memorable parts of the event. The moment the Widmanstätten pattern finally revealed itself during the last step received the most reactions.
We’ve hosted Masterclasses for years across India, and they have helped shape our ongoing mission to challenge perceptions around what it means to build fine watches from India. This Meteorite Watch Masterclass represented the next step in that journey.

Dubai Open House

After an exciting week at Dubai Watch Week 2025 and our debut Meteorite Watch Masterclass, we concluded our time in the UAE with a BWC Open House - an opportunity for existing owners, collectors, and new enthusiasts to spend time with the watches and the team behind them.
The event was hosted at Kempinski Dubai, where the atmosphere and hospitality set the tone for meaningful conversations. Guests experienced the full Bangalore Watch Company™ collection in person, including recent releases. Seeing the watches up close allowed attendees to interact with the materials, details, and engineering that define each model.

Throughout the evening, our team spent time walking guests through the inspiration, design, and craftsmanship behind the watches. Many attendees were curious to learn more about how we build world-class mechanical watches from India, and those conversations made the session even more rewarding.

Meetings at DWW 2025

We had the opportunity to meet international watch media and connect with brand leaders, including CEOs, in the days leading up to the Masterclass and the Open House in Dubai. We also had the chance to meet members of the TimeGrapher community and RedBar UAE groups known for their passion and technical appreciation for horology.
For everyone who joined us in Dubai, thank you. We look forward to seeing many more of you in the coming months as the Open House and Masterclass continues.
