Cheer of Cricket Boundary
Before fours and sixes filled the air with cheers, cricket was a game of endurance. In the early days, there were no boundaries. Every single run was earned by sprinting between the wickets. Scoring a century meant hours of focus, sweat, and stamina. Gradually, boundaries came into play, first with flags and posts, then with ropes. That’s how the now-familiar concepts of fours and sixes were born.
Back then, a big hit didn’t automatically earn four runs. In fact, one story from 1894 tells of an Australian first-class match between Victoria and Western Australia, where the ball got stuck in a tree. The batsmen kept running until it was dislodged, turning it into a double century. It was a different era of cricket.
Boundaries changed the game. They brought energy, strategy, and a new kind of celebration. And they shaped the modern spirit of cricket.

The Cover Drive Collection
The Cover Drive collection from Bangalore Watch Company is a tribute to cricket. Every element of the design carries the story of the sport, the effort of running between wickets, the excitement of boundary shots, and the collective passion that connects billions of fans.
At first glance, the watch stands out for its distinctive dial. The 4H and 6H positions are marked with stencilled numerals, a direct nod to boundary shots that have echoed through stadiums across the world. The dial itself follows a sandwich construction: two layers of metal, with the top layer cut precisely to reveal the one beneath it. The lower layer is filled with high-quality Super-LumiNova®, glowing green in the dark, illuminating the “boundaries” even when the lights go out.
This design is functional storytelling. The indices resemble wicket stumps, while the cutouts for 4 and 6 positions symbolise the excitement that boundaries bring to every inning.

Built on the Spirit of Cricket
Every cricket-inspired watch from the Cover Drive collection carries subtle cues from the sport. It’s not about one nation. It’s about the stories that shaped cricket, the players, the stadiums, and the roar of the crowd. The Cover Drive takes these emotions and translates them into design.
The indices, shaped like stumps, bring structure to the dial, while the bezel carries a texture inspired by a cricket bat handle. Even the smallest detail connects back to the field.
