Dual time, no offset missed

From pilots crossing continents to professionals working between Mumbai and Melbourne, the ability to track multiple time zones becomes a necessity. The Apogee collection, inspired by India’s space exploration, was always designed to push boundaries in both design and utility. But for this watch, we wanted its most functional feature to match its space ambition.

That’s how the Dual Time Zone Bi-Directional Bezel takes shape.

Rethinking Time Zone Tracking

Traditional GMT watches are designed around full-hour time zone differences. That works fine if you’re in London or New York. But what about places like India, where the local time is offset by 30 minutes? Or Nepal, which is 45 minutes?

We wanted a design that could handle these nuances without cluttering the dial, something equally useful for a commercial pilot, a business traveller, or anyone working across borders.

So, we started from scratch, reimagining how to integrate dual time zone tracking into Apogee’s unique space-inspired design.

How It Works?

At the heart of the system is a fixed 12-hour internal bezel paired with a rotating 24-hour outer bezel. The rotating bezel is controlled via a crown at the 2 o’clock position and sits beneath the sapphire crystal, keeping the watch’s clean profile intact and protecting it from accidental knocks.

The bezel rotates in both directions, allowing you to quickly adjust for a second time zone, whether it’s ahead or behind your home time through a simple mental calculation. Clear five-minute divisions on the internal bezel make it precise enough for offsets of 30 or even 45 minutes.

At the base of the dial, rhodium-plated indices and diamond-cut hands ensure excellent legibility, while the minute markers on a raised step add depth. The result is a dial that balances functionality and clarity with Apogee’s signature space-inspired aesthetic.

Why It Matters?

A dual time zone bezel is a tool. For pilots, it can mean instantly knowing the time at the departure and destination airports. For professionals, it’s about coordinating calls and meetings across continents without second-guessing the math. For watch enthusiasts, it’s the satisfaction of mechanical problem-solving without digital shortcuts.

By engineering a bezel that works as well for India’s unique time offset as it does for New York or Tokyo, we made the Apogee’s timekeeping truly global.

Space-Ready, Earth-Practical

Like everything in the Apogee, the dual time zone bezel is designed to be robust enough for space and refined enough for everyday wear. It’s built into a Cerasteel™ case, the same proprietary material that survived the vacuum of space during our test flight. The caseback features a detailed engraving of Aryabhata, India’s first satellite, while coordinates of Sriharikota sit proudly at the 6H position as a nod to the ISRO launch site.

Every owner gets a watch of distinction

We design and build our watches in India for those who appreciate fine watches with an Indian storytelling touch. Each collection is carefully made in small batches, with every piece crafted and tested to the highest standards.

The Apogee is a piece of Indian engineering that looks forward while honouring the milestones of our space program. And the dual time zone bi-directional bezel? It keeps you informed across time zones. The Apogee is a collection of space-qualified watches, the first of its kind in India. In this blog, you understood the internal bezel for the second time zone. Our other collections: the cricket-inspired Cover Drive has an external bezel to track overs. Our other collections include the aviation-themed Mach 1 pilot watch, and now, our latest Peninsula Professional, our take on an outdoor watch inspired by the diverse landscapes of the Indian subcontinent.
