GQ India recently featured Bangalore Watch Company™ in a piece written by Parth Charan, spotlighting how Indian watchmaking is shaping its own identity on the global stage.
As an independent brand, we have focused on building watches with the highest standards of watchmaking, while ensuring that every detail connects to milestones from modern India. This approach, carried consistently across collections, is likely why an Indian independent watch brand has found a place at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) this year.
As Parth Charan writes, “Horology in India has finally come of age.” In his article, he places us among six brands creating watches that celebrate India.
The article highlights our early dress watch inspired by HMT, and how our watches carry Indian nuances without relying solely on heritage. Instead, we focus on milestones that define India’s journey, like watches inspired by aviation, cricket, space exploration, and the diverse geography of India.
The article also highlights something we hold central to our design - legibility. For us, a watch must always serve its wearer clearly, whether in daily use or in demanding environments.
