WatchTime India

WatchTime India featured Forty Seven, Bangalore Watch Company's first pocket watch, in development for 18 months. The article explores how the brand steps away from the wristwatch format for the first time, choosing to tell a story rooted in an earlier chapter of India's history.

At the centre of the watch is a design language drawn from mid-century pocket watches, reinterpreted through an Indian lens. Crafted in 316L surgical steel with a rose gold PVD finish, the 46 mm case houses an off-white linen-patterned dial, vintage hour markers, and cathedral-style hands, paired with a genuine leather lanyard in place of a traditional wrist strap.

At Bangalore Watch Company, every collection begins with a story. MACH 1® honours aviation, Cover Drive® celebrates cricket, Apogee® draws from India's achievements in space, and Peninsula has always looked to the landscapes around us. With Forty Seven, this Indian watch brand returns to the years immediately after Independence, when a young nation began laying the foundations for what it would become.
