A Star’s Final Act, Reborn on Your Wrist

From the silent vastness of space to the precision of a wristwatch, the Apogee line from Bangalore Watch Company™ tells space stories in miniature form. The collection of space watches pays tribute to the mysteries of the universe from the moments of light, energy, and creation that have inspired humankind for generations.

What began as a tribute to decades of India’s space achievements has evolved into a canvas of celestial storytelling. Watches that depict the colors, textures, and phenomena of the cosmos itself.

Stories of Space Told Through Time

When seen from low Earth orbit, the edge of our planet glows with a soft blue haze, the thin line where space meets atmosphere. The Apogee Horizon is inspired by that fleeting glow with a mesmerizing blue fumé dial, a gradient that fades from luminous azure at the centre to deep blue at the edges.

Look closely at a crescent moon, and you’ll notice a faint, pale-brown glow gently illuminating its dark side. This is Earthshine, a phenomenon caused when sunlight reflects off Earth’s surface and casts a soft radiance back onto the Moon. The Apogee Earthshine captures this celestial whisper in its pale brown fumé dial.

Wear the Galaxy's Blinding Light

The story of the Apogee Supernova begins in deep space with the explosive collision of massive stars. In that moment, a blinding burst of energy erupts, so powerful it can outshine an entire galaxy. Among these rare cosmic events, some supernovae shine green. Among them, the rare green hue stands apart – radiant and awe-inspiring. It’s this cosmic green that inspired the dial of the Apogee Supernova.

The peak brightness of a supernova rivals the light of billions of stars combined before gradually fading over weeks or months. One such event, Supernova 1987A, captivated the world in February 1987, the first visible to the naked eye in nearly 400 years. It reminded us how fleeting and spectacular these cosmic moments truly are.

At its centre lies a deep green fumé dial, glowing at the core and fading to black at the edges, mirroring the expanding shell of a real supernova. A subtle sunray texture painted across its surface, catching and scattering light with every tilt of the wrist. Beneath the domed sapphire crystal, the shifting tones remind one of stars fading into their final brilliance.

Built for Space

Every Apogee watch tells a story, but its craft goes far beyond aesthetics. The entire collection is now space-qualified, designed and tested to endure the extremes of temperature, pressure, and radiation found beyond our atmosphere.

Encased in Cerasteel™, a proprietary material developed after years of research, the Apogee Supernova’s matte black PVD-coated finish reflects the vast darkness of space itself. Within that darkness, only the dial glows - the singular light of the Supernova.

This fusion of engineering and storytelling began with the Apogee Kármán Line, the first Indian watch qualified for space. With 100 meters of water resistance, these watches are as resilient as they are refined, equally at home underwater or above the stratosphere.

Indian Ingenuity with Universal Aspiration

Since its launch in 2021, the Apogee collection has grown from a tribute to ISRO’s milestones to a chronicle of the space's greatest wonders. Each new watch expands the story from lunar missions and meteorite dials to tributes to the first interstellar object discovered by humanity.

Through Apogee, Bangalore Watch Company™ continues to blend Indian ingenuity with universal inspiration. From the cockpit of the Indian Air Force to the cricket field, from the peninsula’s rugged coasts to the boundless cosmos, every Indian watch collection carries a distinct story of exploration and modernity.
