Monochrome Watches
Monochrome Watches recently featured the Peninsula Carbon, the latest addition to Bangalore Watch Company's Peninsula collection. In the article, author Denis Peshkov traces the brand's journey from its founding in 2018 to its growing identity as a watch brand rooted in stories of modern India, from aviation and cricket to space exploration and the outdoors.
Developed in collaboration with Bangalore-based material science company Carbon Craft, ReforgeCarbon™ combines forged carbon fiber with recovered carbon black, a substance obtained through the pyrolysis of industrial waste materials that would otherwise release pollutants into the atmosphere. The result is a dial with marbled textures and chaotic patterns, where no two examples look exactly alike. The minutes track is presented as a mock AQI scale, transitioning from green to deep red in reference to modern air-quality indexes, grounding the watch's concept in the everyday reality of city life.
Bangalore Watch Company has celebrated India's space ambitions, its air force, and its passion for cricket in past collections. The Peninsula Carbon is its most conceptual step yet - a limited edition watch that takes a hard look at urban India and turns what cities leave behind into something worth wearing on the wrist.
