Case Shaped Like a Pebble

Nature has always influenced watchmaking through colours, materials, and processes. The Peninsula Professional takes that inspiration further, reflecting not just one element but the full breadth of India’s geography. 

Each model draws from a different region: Agumbe recalls the wet rainforests of the southwest, Zanskar mirrors the snow-covered Himalayas, Laccadive captures the calm waters of the Lakshadweep islands, and the limited-edition Mannar even carries natural material within its dial. These aren’t just names; they are pieces of India on the wrist. 

A watch shaped by such variety couldn’t be confined to a traditional circular case. We turned to one of nature’s most familiar forms: the pebble. Found on shores, riverbeds, and forest floors, pebbles help conserve water, prevent soil erosion, and endure for centuries. The Peninsula case mirrors this organic form. While most of our other collections use a classic round case, and the Apogee features a cushion or tonneau profile, the pebble shape was the obvious choice for a watch inspired by India’s geography.

The Peninsula Professional is designed for the outdoors and built to handle adventure, with water resistance up to 660 feet. Its pebble case is paired with a superdome sapphire crystal chosen to preserve the rounded silhouette. A flat crystal would have broken the continuous curve, and even a standard dome would have appeared too shallow. The superdome keeps the profile seamless while maintaining clarity and strength. If you’ve ever wondered why we choose certain sapphire crystals, this is where it all comes together.

At 44 mm, the case sounds large on paper, yet owners repeatedly say it wears smaller and more balanced than they expected. The design hugs the wrist the way a naturally rounded stone settles into your palm.  

The caseback is surgical-grade stainless steel, etched with nature-inspired iconography and text. A screw-down crown sits against the case, ensuring the watch remains rugged, legible, and adventure-ready.
