Layers of Apogee

Every Apogee has a quiet trick up its sleeve: the ability to track a second country’s time with simple mental math. Unlike most dual-time watches that only accommodate full-hour offsets, Apogee goes further. The clear five-minute divisions on its internal bezel make it work just as well for offsets of 30 or even 45 minutes. 

We wrote about this in detail in Dual Time: No Offset Missed. But the real question is: what makes this possible? The answer lies in the dial and bezel construction. 

Fixed bezels have always been the quiet constants of the watch world, designed more for aesthetics than for function. Rotating bezels add interaction, divers use unidirectional bezels for safety underwater, and pilots have long relied on bidirectional bezels for in-flight calculations. 

Our collection of Cricket watches uses an external unidirectional rotating bezel, perfect for cricket to count overs or keep time. 

Apogee, however, takes this one step further. Its bezel is internal, bidirectional, and tucked safely under the sapphire crystal. It’s rotated by a dedicated crown at 2 o’clock.

Look closer, and you’ll notice something rare in Apogee: a truly multi-layered dial. The foundation: diamond-cut, rhodium-plated indices, sharp and brilliant. The middle step: a raised level carrying the 1 to 12-hour markers. The summit: the bidirectional bezel itself, integrated into the dial’s very construction.
